Ah thanks, even less of a chance as I have the older 6110 navigator. I'm considering getting a hand held usb scanner that can ocr directly into Word, hope such a device can read text off items except just white paper.

Thanks / Regards

On that discussion page (the first link), seems one or two guys mention it
won't work on the 6210 - if that's the navigator - but not sure if that
means not at all, or just this specific version.

Ok, now by searching for:
nokia multi scanner download N82

via google accessible search, I found the following page:
http://symbianv3.com/nokia-multiscanner-recognize-texts-with-camera/

On that page, there are two links to download either a version in a .rar
archive:

http://symbianv3.com/wp-content/uploads/multiscanner_euro_v_1_1_8_s60_31.rar

or a direct link for the .sisx file:

http://symbianv3.com/wp-content/uploads/multiscanner_euro_v_1_1_8_s60_31.sisx

I tried sending that link to an email address configured for receipt on
my
phone, but it didn't seem to like the link too much, so I just
bluetoothed
it to my phone now, and when opened the message, carried out
installation,
restarted phone, and it runs fine, in terms of starting and operating,
etc.

I just opened the camera first, exited that app, then started
multiscanner
itsself.

I see that it now has input language options for both finnish and english
in this version, but when I tried it out on a box of cigarettes which I
generally use when showing the KNFB reader to people, it again just came
back with garbage character results.

Will try maybe better lighting, and normal printed text etc., but lets
see.

This is all on my N82 FWIW.

Stay well

Hi Jacob, where did you get a test version.
I downloaded some version from the Nokia site, but as many on a forum
have
found, it seems to only really work with E66 and E71, many like me could
get
it to install, but just won't load.

I've tried the current test version of that multiscanner software on my
N82, and it just seems to read me back a jumble of letters etc., but
also
seems can only set it to try read finnish or something at the moment,
but
let's see if something happens as they move along with it.

Hi List,

I hear the Nokia E66 and E71 also come with Nokia's Multiscan software
installed. This software is an OCR application and allows the phone to
scan text and then read it to you.

I tried installing this Multiscanner software from Nokia, which they
claim
works with Simbian 60 phones and others, and the app after installation
just doesn't want to load or open on my 6110 navigator.

Ps: I love my navigator, although not the latest 6210. I believe the
E66
has gps and also 3.5 mp camera, but not sure if Vodacom offer it as
"speaking phone".

  Hi,

Interesting, this about installing programs on cell phones. Makes me
wonder what's hiding on it, as many of the things that are on there,
is
  hidden.

Anyway, have just started using the Nokia Navigator 6210, and I am
impressed with it, as I can now save many text, or mp3, books on it,
so
I, as a lover of reading, can now always have lots of books on my
phone,
which Talks read out to me.

The GPS is another thing; the phone cannot yet tell me when something
dares to get in my way of destruction. Still playing around with it.

The problem lately, is that my Service provider these days has
decided
to
install the UK voice of Eleguance, rather than the US version, which
I
find better. Now, this was a little problem I could easily solve by
downloading the US version when I was using the N70. But, when I
tried
to
do it for the 6210, my computer does not want to allow me, saying
something like "Burst Technologies is regarding this as chat"

This should be a small file, called something like: "Eleguance 3rd
4...sisx". I need the US version [American]

Would it be possible for any of you guys to download it for me and
e-mail
  it to me? [www.nuance.com\talks\support]
