I wonder if this is related to 'intuitive vision'? Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA '...Fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...'----- Original Message ----- Matlock Today, Derbyshire (UK)
Thursday, September 27, 2007 June's vision for sight sufferers By Staff CopySEE CHANGE: June Lloyd (right), with daughter, Matlock businesswoman Jane Weightman, who is a past president of Hope Valley Rotary Club.
A DALES woman is helping to spearhead the first campaign of its kind anywhere in the world to help visually impaired people fight their phantom visions. June Lloyd is hoping to raise awareness of the little-known condition called Charles Bonnet Syndrome, in which sufferers report seeing images such as people,
buildings, animals and patterns.Until recently, anyone with serious sight loss who reported such visions was often regarded as suffering from dementia.
June, who is herself a victim, said: "The sad thing is that those with CBS will often not talk about these phantom visions through fear of being regarded
as mentally ill."Now June, a member of Hope Valley Rotary Club, is leading a group of volunteers seeking to spread the word about Charles Bonnet Syndrome through Sheffield
Royal Society for the Blind.A new support group, the only one of its kind worldwide, has been launched and monthly meetings are held to share experiences and identify ways of educating
others about the condition. The society is campaigning to raise much-needed funds and awareness of Charles Bonnet Syndrome by providing leaflets for opticians, doctors and medical
centres.June added: "We already have around 15 members but they are only the tip of the iceberg. There must be thousands more people in this part of the world alone who have the condition but are afraid to admit it - and that is very sad."
