[blindza] Re: Disability - quo vadis?

I agree that it might be a good thing to divide this up into various
geographical locations, partly since not everyone can all that easily travel to
one location as such, and, have also thought it might be nice to maybe split
this up into focusing on certain types of disability, or something, since,
along the lines of the silly old concept that all disabled people must be in
wheel chairs, it might be nice to sort of focus on certain parts/types of
disability adaptation or something at something like this...?

Also, their stall pricing is ridiculous if they're trying to help people share
information, as opposed to just promote businesses, etc. - sorry.

Stay well

Have you received a notice about the next Airports Company Disability
Exhibition planned for
Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 September 2012 at the Sandton Convention Centre?

Some serious stuff is happening around us as the uniqueness of disability
issues becomes watered down by submerging it with Women and Children, and now
the Aged.

What happened to the SOD? Is it now part of DICED? Did it do much in any case?
Now CASE capitulates and jumps into bed with the Planned Retirement Expo.
Is this government's move to sideline disabled children and adults into old
age homes, to relieve the pressure on education and employment?

Who is fighting back - is it the SA Disability Alliance or the NGO National
Councils or who?
I think that it would be more useful to have a disability exhibition in each
province/ major city.
  What do you think?
