FWIW, I was called on Friday by Sue from guide dogs SA and told I should be going in for the 3 week training session and be (obviously) getting my guide dog at the same time, around the end of January.
This is a very nice thing, and, for interests sake, I had actually sort of been planning to get myself a puppy/companion animal over the next week or two, but this is (obviously) way better.
I will also definitely be taking my one laptop with me so that I'll be able to carry on with some work in the evenings, and with my current iBurst mobile connection, I'll also be online at the same time, so will be able to maintain a form of log/diary at the time and let the list know how it goes.
