Hi thereWas just thinking this morning after my recent involvement with another newly blind woman that something that might be a perfect starting point would be something like a sort of introductory tutorial for newly VI guys which would maybe just tell them what to expect along the lines of orientation and mobility, living skills/conditions, basic cooking, braille learning etc. etc.If there was such a thing in written (electronic) format, I could also quite easily convert it into MP3 audio files, or an audio CD, or even on tape, or could even record a real person speaking as such since I've already been using some audio software to record things like the tape aids for the blind tapes onto my computer, record some other sound clips from my KSonar, and even record my own sound effects for my snakes and ladders game, etc. etc.Did a quick search for something like this on the internet this morning, and didn't seem to find any such thing available for download, and, FWIW, it could also be used for things like getting people going on computers, with devices/gadgets etc. etc., so you could do something like record a sort of instructional audio clip for things like using a pouring sensor, etc. etc., since there are various tutorials out there where you hear the computer speaking in the background while the main person is telling you what's happening. Could really be done for almost any device/gadget. (I know that some of the mainstream things already have their own instructional material, but anyway)Could very easily put this sort of collection onto tape/audio CD so it would be quite easy for any person to listen to before actually trying to get involved with whatever training/instructional procedure. This could even include a sort of introductory thing for people who might be getting a guide dog sometime.Just thought I would ask you if you know of anything like this, or alternatively, we could even try put something like this together or something. Will also be asking around a bit in case there are already things like this out there that I didn't find this morning, but anyway.Stay well Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA 082 413 4791 '...Fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...' ---------- To send a message to the list, send any message to blindza@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to blindza-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line--- The 'homepage' for this list is at http://www.blindza.co.za
