Not UAC as such, since that's more specific to installing/activating software
on the machine itsself, but more like a bit of windows firewall specifically
blocking net activity as such - and that's been around since windowsXP...<smile>

Of course, Win 7 has that irritating crap it calls UAC; and as you can see,
that's the first thing I disable! When installing Dropbox, it did ask a
question about UAC, which I had to say yes to, so I guess Win 7 isn't trying to
block it any more. However, the connection here and at this time is terrible,
so I will check it out later tonight, when the Net is faster, and the signal is
better. Unfortunately, I have no contact details for Dewald, so I cannot call
him and ask if he got it. And, by the way, there are a couple of other
unnecessary "features" in Win 7 that I also tend to turn off quickly...☺

Well, think he should see it as soon as it's finished uploading in
background, and, maybe in your public folder it needs to initiate the upload or
something before starting to allow you to share a public link, or something.

Also, remember that windows7 etc. might try block dropbox, so you might
need to have told something like windows security to allow it access to 'net,
etc., but anyway.

    Stay well

Sorry, have deleted previous posts about Dropbox, so have to start a new
maessage again, here comes; I received in my e-mail an invitation to a shared
folder from Dewald, and while my laptop was running, I noticed the folder
coming up in my Dropbox folder on it, as soon as I accepted the request. So, I
pasted something in it. I wonder, can Dewald see it now in his Dropbox folder?
In the Public folder I still cannot find that link-creating thing you talked
about....but what I did find, was a Share thing, which I clicked on, and this
went to Dropbox site. Still very confusing to me...? Watch out, next is
Skype.....smiley face?
