John, on a Windows 7 64, latest JAWS 12 update, Beta 43 has as you mentioned
earlier, the same issues with apps updates and smart playlists that you've
already identified, also after playing around with it a little, I closed
iTunes with alt+f4 and got the 'thank you for using blindtunes' as it exited
but then apparently JAWS crashed, I didn't have sighted help and was unable
to launch NVDA which usually bails me out of JAWS tantrums. I finally was
able to silent keyboard my way to shut down the PC, when I restarted it I
tried it again and it didn't re-occur, I'll play around it with some more

Thanks for all your efforts.

Does it completely quit out of iTunes? I notice some strange focus issue
coming out of iTunes. Perhaps windows key + M will reFocus the desktop?

Hi John,

The latest version seems to be working fairly well. However, when I do a
search in the ITunes Store and then do control shift S, then do alt F4 to
exit the ITunes App, it will bring me back to my desktop and Jaws will only
read the option I am currently on when returning to my desktop. If I try to
arrow to another app on my desktop it does not read anything. Perhaps I am
doing something wrong? Not sure, but thought I would let you know.

I am using windows 7 and latest version of Jaws.

Thank you,
