Leslie, here are thde preliminary results of trying to get Replay9 off the virtual ground.:Keep in mind I am not a professional tester nor have I tested ANY program before. After installing the program and 'entering' on the desktop shortcut on my XP PC that uses JAWS 14 speech screen reader, I kept pressing 'enter' to open Replay9. It turns out it opened in a different window; unfortunate and a time waster if you're not expecting that to happen. When I tab through the tabs on the 'welcome' screen, I entered on the 'demos read tab, I received an error message and the 'demo links' went nowhere. Turning on the JAWS cursor displayed the "unexpected error" The msge continues "help URL not valid. Parameter name: url" followed by an 'ok' button.Tabbing further the tab "show at start" appears. Show what at start?Tabbing further I encountered a 'here' button. The JAWS cursor displayed "Version of is available." Version of what? After tabbing to the 'guide' tab, tabbing further displays 5 buttons, none of which explain what each button is for.In fact the 'library' 'schedule' and 'guide' buttons do not function when pressing 'enter' or the space bar.Between the 'search' and 'here' tabs there are a half dozen tabs that don't speak whatsoever.I haven't figured out how to use the program even after looking at the 'file menus. There are numerous options in the various menus that don't appear to have much to do with what the Replay AV programs have done traditionally. In my humble opinion there is no point to continuing until the above issues have been resolved. This program appears to need a lot of work unfortunately if a blind person is to have access to it..----- Original Message ----- From: "Hap Holly" <hap@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, July 01, 2013 6:36 AM Subject: [blindreplay] Re: Testing A New Radio Recorder for Accessibility?Leslie, I began working with your new #9 program but experienced a software problem unrelated to your program. I'll get back to my evaluation tomorrow evening as I have a Toastmasters meeting tonight after work. My apology for the delay. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Life My Way" <lifemyway@xxxxxxxxx>To: <blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, July 01, 2013 2:35 AMSubject: [blindreplay] Re: Testing A New Radio Recorder for Accessibility?how is the testing coming along?----- Original Message ----- From: "Leslie Bee" <leslie@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, June 23, 2013 10:03 AMSubject: [blindreplay] Re: Testing A New Radio Recorder for Accessibility? Thanks everyone. (and long over due) I am looking for a few testers - perhaps 4 - to test a radio recorder that one of our developers has come up with.Could you get back to me and let me know if you'd be interested? We are specifically interested in how it does from an accessibility standpoint. And it's overall functionality. You can write me directly at leslie@xxxxxxxxxxx. And can you let me knowwhat sort of screen reader you are using? I hope you are all enjoying day 2 of summer. :) Thanks so much Leslie On Apr 20, 2013, at 7:15 PM, Hap Holly <hap@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Gary, if you have Skype, let's talk and I'll walk you through the scheduling. Not the best news, but things are clearer. I'm stuck in atime-shifting mode where much of what I want to hear I can't hear when it's on and I now need a solution. It also would be better if it were schedulable so I didn't have to be at the "radio" to turn it on. Thanksto all.----- Original Message ----- From: "Dean Martineau" <dean92@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 19, 2013 5:21 PM Subject: [blindreplay] Re: Scheduling RecordingTotal Recorder can record multiple streams on older computers and schedulethem, but on newer systems, Win Vista or newer, the ability to captureaudio is as we know very limited. You now get Replay A/V by going to the downloads page under support ontheApplian site. It's still there for the support of those of us who have purchased it. It's been canceled because the company justly realizedthat it couldn't capture a lot of streams nowadays, and the repeatedly assertthat they're coming out with a modern program. They thought it wouldbe out by now but it's still forthcoming. In the meantime, if you lose the currentone, it can be replaced and is still supported. It is definitely thebest stream recorder out there even with its limitations. Is it an embedded player or one of those services like Pandora? Unfortunately, it's no longer being supported and the last time I looked on their site it didn't appear that older versions are being sold. They were talking about a program called Darwin which sounded similar, but I'm not sure how accessible it is or how it compares to Replay-AV, though it soundedas though it was for recording talk shows and storing them in somethinglikethe cloud player, if you know what I mean. There used to be a programcalledRedbutton and Total Recorder allows you to schedule single recordings, but Idon't know if there are any other programs for capturing and scheduling multiple streams. Unless someone can comment further, your best bet isprobably to go directly to the Applian website or to write to them directly. I have no idea why they discontinued the program. SusanIf you want to do scheduled recordings, Replay-AV IS THE BEST WAY I CANTHINK OF. -----Original Message----- From: Gary Petraccaro Sent: Friday, April 19, 2013 4:01 PM To: blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [blindreplay] Re: Scheduling RecordingIs i heart radio accessible? The scheduling dialog ids pretty straightforward, though your screenreader may not indicate the days clearly depending on your settings without a bit of exploration. My guessis that if you've done it before you'll be able to pick it up easily, but let me know if you need more help.
