Thanks for this Rick. This is very helpful. The fault appears to be with us -
and we are trying to get it fixed.

Stay tuned.
Leslie

Leslie,

When I click on the buy with paypal button, what I get is a dialog box, and
not really a different page. It is a dialog that says, "The page at
https://applien.securieies (don't have the complete url shown there) says
you must enter a credit card number." And then there is an ok button.

I am not being redirected to paypal at all. It is a script or something
that is not allowing me to be redirected to paypal because it is checking
for empty fields in the form below. I did not try filling in all the fields
because I didn't want to give any credit card info. I'm no programmer for
sure, but once the buy with paypal button has been clicked, in my opinion,
there should be no checking done for empty fields in the form. It seems
that one should be immediately redirected to paypal so that one can log in
or create a new account and the only info that should be passed on with the
redirection is of course the actual purchase info and whatever else paypal
would need to process the purchase. Stuff like name and address and credit
card info is already on file with Paypal once you log in, or create your new
account.

Like I said, I am not a programmer, but hopefully, you understand what I am
trying to say.

Warmest regards,

Rick Alfaro

Hey Rick -
Can I ask you a question? After you click on the buy with paypal button, and
you are taken to the page where you are told to enter all the rest of the
info -is there a way for you to check to see if there is also a Paypal login
field on the right hand side of the page? The way Paypal has set up that
page the left side has login info for people who DON't already have paypal
accouns and then on the right hand side of the page is a field for existing
paypal holders to just enter their paypal login info. Can you let me know
if it is there for you?

In the meantime we have found that we have an issue with how some of the
script is written for these buttons so we are working on fixing our issues -
but paypal is convinced that their stuff is all okay.

Thanks mucho,
Leslie
From Applian

Petro,

I see what is going on now. If I click on the buy with paypal button, I am
told that I have to enter in all of the rest of the info as if I were going
to submit the order through them and not Paypal, including the credit card
info, and I am returned to the order form. This defeats the whole purpose
of using PayPal to begin with. If one clicks on the buy with paypal button,
one should be able to be taken right to the paypal site so that one can
either log into one's paypal account, or create a new account. One should
not have to enter any of our credit card info, or any of the other info for
that matter if one is paying with paypal as all of that stuff is
automatically sent to the vendor when the payment is made with paypal.

This sure doesn't seem like a screen reader issue to me, more of a web
development issue and the way it is coded. That is just my take on it of
course.

Warmest regards,

Rick Alfaro

Rick
Did you press the ENTER key on "Buy With Paypal" button?" You
will not get charged but will be taken to a Paypal page with a
log in.

Does it take you to the Paypal log in screen with username and
password?

JAWS 9 sees both the "Buy Now" on the first page and does see
the "Buy With Paypal" button on the second page too.

Let us know. You are using Window Eyes.

Thank you.
