You may have to do an uninstall of Replay AV 8 but please wait 1-2 days as I am waiting to hear a response from Applian on your freezing issue. Did you recently upgrade Window-Eyes application?

Download a fresh copy of Replay AV 8. Just download it but do not run it.

Make sure Replay AV 8 is no longer running. Also check your system tray and make sure its no longer running there.

To uninstall Replay AV 8
Copy the schedule8.dat file. It should be in your
C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Local\ folder.
To another place on your hard drive.

1. Go to Control Panel, add/remove and uninstall
* Replay AV 8
It should uninstall Replay Converter. If it does not uninstall Replay Converter.
* WinPCat this is the URL Finder utility
* The YouSendIt program

Reboot your computer. Do not do a complete shutdown.

Your computer is up and running now.

Go to your C: drive and look in your \program Files\ folder for the folders

Replay AV 8
Replay Converter
WinPCat
YouSendIt

If you see the above 4 folders. Delete each one.

I hope you know how to do the above.

Reboot your PC again.

Computer is up and running.

Install the fresh copy of Replay AV 8 now. you may need your product key. This product key can be sent to you by Applian if you lost it. It can be found in one of the .log files in your
C:\Program Files\Replay AV 8\

Usually Internet explorer is running, winamp and sometimes OE. Windows Live messenger and Skype were running in the system tray today.

The processor is a Pentium (R) D 2.66 2.67 GHZ with 3 GB of RAM.

I should say that when I first installed Replay I was able to grab at least 10 programs at once with no problems. This problem simply started inexplicably.

When you are recording those 7 items do you have all other programs/software closed and not running in the background? What kind of processor is on that PC you have?

Hi, Have changed to the main drive and its still freezing. I was grabbing 7 items at the time.

I tend to record things on a manual basis, I haven't got anything set to automatically record.

First thing to do is change it to the main hard drive where your recordings are saved and let us know.

Many thanks for your message.

The hard drive is an internal one not external but I'll give it a go and switch to the main drive.

connection is wired.

The check box you mentioned is unchecked.

When I uninstalled the program, I did it through add remove programs and I'm pretty sure it removed everyhting. I didn't back any files up.

I don't recall being asked about shared files during uninstallation.

Would it make sense to uninstall everything and manually check that the schedule8.dat file is removed?

I will forward your message to Applian. Some ideas I have here are,

1. Try using your main hard drive and not the external hard drive and see what happens. Secondary hard drive you say and I assume its an external one right?

2. Are you using direct connection or wireless connection. It's much better to use direct connection with cable connected to your PC or notebook.

3. Did you by any chance change the setting to 'convert faster'? This is found by pressing alt+f then choosing settings. Open the other tab sheet and see if the checkbox to convert faster is checked. If it is uncheck this box.

4. When you did the uninstall of Replay AV 8 did you uninstall all components and backup the schedule8.dat file to another place on your hard drive? The schedule8.dat file contains all your recordings. The shows and stations that are in your listbox view within Replay AV 8 main interface.

5. If you were asked whether or not to remove shared files during the uninstall I always say do not remove these files or keep these files. Basically do not remove such files.

Subject: [blindreplay] Replay AV freezing

Hello, I've been using Replay AV for quite some time to capture streams from the internet. I've had the following problem with my current version 8.82 and the previous version, whose number I don't remember.

During recording the program freezes. My speech (window Eyes 7.2) gives no feedback in the program and when I bring up Windows Task manager Replay is reported to be not responding.

When this problem first started I put it down to the number of streams I was trying to record at once and so reduced this down to 5 or 6. Then my previous version of Replay froze the moment I tried to capture any stream. That's what persuaded me to upgrade to 8.82 and whilst I can now capture streams, if I try to capture more than 2 the program freezes consistently.

I am using Windows XP SP3 with all the latest updates. I'm recording on to a secondary hard drive which has 143 GB of free space.

I don't know if this has any baring on my problem, but when I installed replay 8.82 I got an error message which said that something had not been uninstalled. I can't remember what that was, but when I started Replay for the first time, the programs that were in the previous version were listed in the new version.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to sort this out? Its very frustrating.
