Hi
Always make sure you back up that schedule8.dat file before doing an
uninstall of replay AV 8. This schedule8.dat file contains all the data for
all your shows, stations and podcasts you record. If you lose that file you
will have to re-create all your recordings from sctratch and you don't want
to do that. This file is no longer in your C:\Program Files\Replay AV 8\
but somewhere else and from my experience from a user named Hap this file is
hidden and you have to change your settings to show hidden files. I maybe
wrong here but maybe you can check to see if its not hidden on your end.
This file is in your Docuents and settings folder, Applications Data, Local
I don't have XP here. With Vista Home Premium its in the Your
Username\AppData\Local folder.
Let's wait to see if Applian saids anything about your freezing issue before
doing an uninstall of Replay AV 8.

Many thanks for your message.
The hard drive is an internal one not external but I'll give it a go and
switch to the main drive.
connection is wired.
The check box you mentioned is unchecked.
When I uninstalled the program, I did it through add remove programs and
I'm pretty sure it removed everyhting. I didn't back any files up.
I don't recall being asked about shared files during uninstallation.
Would it make sense to uninstall everything and manually check that the
schedule8.dat file is removed?
Yusuf

I will forward your message to Applian. Some ideas I have here are,
1. Try using your main hard drive and not the external hard drive and see
what happens. Secondary hard drive you say and I assume its an external
one right?
2. Are you using direct connection or wireless connection. It's much
better to use direct connection with cable connected to your PC or
notebook.
3. Did you by any chance change the setting to 'convert faster'? This is
found by pressing alt+f then choosing settings. Open the other tab sheet
and see if the checkbox to convert faster is checked. If it is uncheck
this box.
4. When you did the uninstall of Replay AV 8 did you uninstall all
components and backup the schedule8.dat file to another place on your
hard drive? The schedule8.dat file contains all your recordings. The
shows and stations that are in your listbox view within Replay AV 8 main
interface.
5. If you were asked whether or not to remove shared files during the
uninstall I always say do not remove these files or keep these files.
Basically do not remove such files.

Subject: [blindreplay] Replay AV freezing
Hello, I've been using Replay AV for quite some time to capture streams
from the internet. I've had the following problem with my current
version 8.82 and the previous version, whose number I don't remember.
During recording the program freezes. My speech (window Eyes 7.2) gives
no feedback in the program and when I bring up Windows Task manager
Replay is reported to be not responding.
When this problem first started I put it down to the number of streams I
was trying to record at once and so reduced this down to 5 or 6. Then my
previous version of Replay froze the moment I tried to capture any
stream. That's what persuaded me to upgrade to 8.82 and whilst I can now
capture streams, if I try to capture more than 2 the program freezes
consistently.
I am using Windows XP SP3 with all the latest updates. I'm recording on
to a secondary hard drive which has 143 GB of free space.
I don't know if this has any baring on my problem, but when I installed
replay 8.82 I got an error message which said that something had not
been uninstalled. I can't remember what that was, but when I started
Replay for the first time, the programs that were in the previous
version were listed in the new version.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to sort this out? Its very
frustrating.
Yusuf
