With a hardware synthesizer, you can record from your speakers and not capture your screen reader. Obviously, one can only capture one stream at a time, but the audio has been preserved for later listening.

   I use both Window-Eyes 7.0 and
JAWS 10.

I still have a working hardware synthesizer, Triple Talk pci, on my desktop computer. I prefer hardware speech and it usually doesn't make a difference except that the other day I wanted to listen to a different stream but ended up having to listen to the Clear Channel station and record the other. Not
my choice but I got it done.

Eventually I may have to go the two-card route but had hoped to put that
off, and don't really even like to use software speech on my laptop because
of volume control issues when multi-tasking. <sigh>

Which screen reader do you use? I have been pleased with recent updates to
JAWS 10. JAWS now supports a second sound card that can be easily
configured in JAWS. With a $10 pair of used speakers, I am able to record anything coming out of my speakers for which a URL cannot be captured. The
screen reader does not interfere. Windows and system sounds are still
captured, but these can be silenced. I have successfully recorded many
things from the speaker capture method that I otherwise would not have been able to record just trying to capture the stream alone. The sound quality
is quite good, particular when recording spoken voice.

Sorry I misunderstood.

Now to recover my fumble I wonder if anyone has a url format that will
work
for Clear Channel links. I was going to post on this topic earlier so
took
a cheap shortcut. Sorry again, Hap.
