Subject: [blindipod] Re: Bose wave media centre
I am actually not a fan of a lot of Bose's products, but their
portable products and smaller media centers are an exception. They
really seem to have gotten the concept of big sound from small box
really down. I have not heard any of their devices hooked up to an
iPod, but I suspect the sound would be great if the quality of the
media center in question is anything like their Wave radio.
This topic reminds me of a question I had thought of previously. In
addition to devices like the one mentioned in this post, a lot of
Audio/Video Recievers are now coming with interfaces specifically
designed for the iPod, most take over control of the iPod thus
allowing control of the player via remote. The question I have is
whether or not this is a function of software or hardware. Would it
work with Rock Box? If so, it would be great, the concept of hooking
up a portable player to my home theater system and being able to get
speech to select my choices has me skirting dangerously close to a
Homer Simpson-like reaction of extacy.
Regards,
Chris
