[blindipod] Re: Which IPOD to buy?

Hi terry,
OK I have now gried using Goldwave in a simple way to convert audible format
4 to MP3 and that works fine. Based on that the Iriver H340 sounds like a
good choice, but I cannot find anyone who will sell me one!
Do any of you know about the accessibility of the more recent Iriver models?
If their menu system is well documented in an accessible format and if their
menu system allows me to reliably get to the first item of each menu
starting from an unknown position then I could learn to use the Iriver.
Given the above I would not really need Rockbox. My current Creative Muvo is
not easily accessible as their menu access scroll wheel moves from the first
menu item to the last menu item and vice versa, and their menu system is
only documented in inaccessible diagrams.
Many thanks.

The problem with a method like this is that you're converting one lossie
format to another lossie format, meaning there will be even more compression

artifacts than before and it won't compress as efficiently. Anyway, the
biggest problem with the Iriver models is simply finding one--you can't buy
an H-series Irivver from the company or in most stores.
