Oh hush. Hard drives take years to go bad, it's a 6 gig model so there's
not much to lose, and who leaves their only copy of something on an MP3
player? Anyways how long does Flash take to go bad? EVERYTHING fails if oyu
wait long enough.

You know, of course, that a hard drive has a limited life and you could
lose
all of your data.

Subject: [blindipod] Finally decided on music player
Hi Everyone,
Thanks to everybody who provided me with info on the different music
players that are out there. I finally decided which player to go with.
You
might be surprised to know that I decided to go with a hard drived based
player instead of a flash based one. That certainly wasn't my original
intention. But after researching everything and doing comparisons, the
hard
drive based player just seemed like the better buy for me. I decided to
go
with an iRiver HP10. I found and bought a refurbished model on ebay for
$124 and that included shipping and insurance. The model I got includes
6GB
of storage space, FM tuner, voice recorder, and is compatible with
Rockbox.
I also like that it isn't a humongous brick. That was the problem I had
with some of the other players I looked at from Archos and one other
brand.
They were just too big. While I still would have preferred something a
little smaller, after considering price, features, and the pros & cons,
this
iRiver model came out on top for me. I probably won't be receving it
until
next week though. I'll let you know how the Rockbox installation goes
once
I get it.
Michael
