Lisa, if you have Sound Forge, you are set.  Just take the file into SF 
with the open, control o, function, then do a save as and rename the file 
from the .wav to the .mp3.  Now, tab a few times until you get to the list 
where you can select the bit rate for compression and choose the one you 
want, probably 128k/second and tab back to the save button and hit it, 
that's all there is to it.
