Hi Mary,

How are you? Hope all is well.

A snippet of your welcome email to Sue intrigued me, and I just had to write
and ask about it. You said that you had to keep JAWS quiet while working.
Were you working on the computer? And if you were, how did you keep track of
what you were doing? Just curious.

  Welcome to the list!

I use Jaws because its braille support is far superior to Window Eyes. I
won't re-hash what I've already said about Jaws and its ability to, in very
detailed ways, adjust braille for individual applications, but I was a computer
professional till retirement last August and needed to (1) keep speech turned
off while working, and (2) adjust main frame interface applications and Lotus
Notes to do various things in braille that I did not want in the rest of the
Windows environment. So, my use of computers is more detailed than yours, but I
think there is room for quiet discussion of individual screen readers, and
acknowledging that we as different people have different needs, but we can
agree that using a computer really opens our world, who ever we are and what
ever we do with the screen readers we prefer, what ever they are.
