Hy Mary this pitch problem you are having, does it only happen when you use
windows media player? Try using another media player and see if that helps, I
recomend Winamp.

Subject: [bct] pitch changes in digital files

  Hi all,

Maybe one of you more knowledgeable people can provide a clue to this. I seem
to be the only one with this problem. I've noticed with some files that they
sound fine on the recorder I use, but when I send them to the PC and play them,
the pitch starts out a half step higher or lower, and then adjusts itself after
a couple seconds. This happens occasionally, but not every time I copy files.
I've noticed when playing back some podcasts to test them for quality, that my
voice lowers a bit and then adjusts itself after a few seconds. It's not
consistent, and there's no way to predict when it will happen, but it is really
a nuisance. It seems to happen when the files are being copied to the PC,
because they can still be in WMA format and I can hear the pitch changes from
the copy on the PC, but on the DS2 or WS320 they sound fine.

Anybody got any ideas why this happens and if it can be fixed in some way?

  Thanks -
