The device is called an ID. Mate and costs about $1700.00's.  It is very nice 
and reads all bar codes.  There are tabs you can attach to your clothes that 
you can record your own message to be spoken by the reader.  It uses the Double 
Talk speech and works quite well, although, it claims to be portable, I don't 
think it is very small.  It works on all bar codes that you will find on almost 
every product available on the commercial market today.  Hope this information

  In the "one minute to fame" podcast Larry demonstrates a device with which he 
recorded a note about the color of his shirt onto some or other tag which can 
then be attached to the shirt.  Is that device commercially available?
