Dan, you can always create a sound for JAWS to use for links.  Either
something you like or make it low enough that you don't hear it.

If it is used merely as a formatting tool to avoid a lot of html coding
links are not embedded in text, I would surely have no complaints.  Ease
use is a good goal.  Sadly, the only applications of wiki I have heard
those with a plethora of embedded links that make the text nearly 
impossible to listen to.
