Sometimes, certain email servers and/or clients won't let you email atachments up to a certain file size, so if your file is above the server's limit, it won't send; usually audiofiles are much bigger than normal text files. Sure, you could zip it, but it would take just as long to zip the file and mail it as it would for him to click on a link, especially if the file is wav or wma.
