These symptoms seem more a script issue than an application-specific
issue. You may need to browse the script documentation for any such
features and the necessary steps to disable them.

No, this is not a mouse issue, it seems to be separate from the other 
problem I was experiencing.  It is weird,  if I go to save a file and
extension is mp3, I hear the m and p but the three does not echo, though
is typed and I can hear it on a say line.  If I just hit a number key in
data window, it tries to open a file associated with the key.  How to
this off, there's the question.
