As I understand it, the text chat feature doesn't work too well...

You can enable the global hot keys in Skype which will make it easier to

answer a call. There is an options  selection inside the tools menu;
is the third or fourth across when you push the alt key to get into the
skype menus. When you get into tools, arrow down till you find options.
Press enter on that; in there, you will find a list of all the options
change; in the list box, arrow down till you find global hot keys; tab
see what can be changed there; you can find a list of the hot keys and
whether each is enabled or disabled; I believe there is a check box to
enable hot key settings. Be sure it's checked. Then you can press OK or
however you exit this menu.

With global hot keys enabled, when you get a call, press alt plus page
up to
answer, and alt plus page down to reject or hang up.

That's all I know so far.

I have no idea how to start a text chat so am still waiting to find that
