It seems that eyesight is the primary one of the five senses.  I, too, have
noticed that most sighted people do not pay nearly as much attention to their
other senses, unless they work with  sound  or with those things that would
demand greater usage of other particular senses. Sight is one of the most
convenient senses.  For example,  one can look across the room and see where
that box of salt is located, provided it is out in plain view.  One does not
have to walk across the room to touch a light switch to know if the light is on
or off, etc
