I'm very happy for you.

For me, and I sure hope this happens to you as well, each time my job was
threatened by inaccessible software, something good came out of it. One time
I got promoted. Another time I was moved in to technical writing, which I
liked better anyway. And another time,  I got a brand-new computer and
operating system and was assigned a different project.

Even when advocating for yourself doesn't turn out well, it is usually just
a sign that it wouldn't have been a good place to work anyway.
