funny you mention that. my sister is dyslexic and wanted to learn Braille.
I tried to teach her on the Braille writer with absolutely miserable
results. Then the idea came to me that she might actually do better on the
slate because you have to write backwards and would you know? she was! In
fact, on the slate, she did perfectly at age nine, which was way more than I
could say for myself at my age at the time, which was eleven.
I'd say I've lost my sanity, but you can't loose what you never had to begin with!!

Hey, gang--there used to be a slate and stylus with which you wrote
forwards. Yes, you heard me right. I can'f find it anymore. I would
consider trying to use a slate and stylus again if I could find that, as
part of my problem was thinking backward--I sometimes have enough trouble
thinking forward--except, of course, when I've had too much Scotch--then,
it's easy, lol. My hands may still be very painful but I'd try again maybe
