Hey David

Thanks for that information. This discussion has been good in
providing some information about those screen readers on a Thumb drive.

When Dolphin announced their Pen drive it was promoted as the first
screen reader on a Pen drive but now it looks like they have some major
competition.

Hay guys,

Guess what, there is a way around the issue of only being able to run
the JFW thumb drive in 40 minute mode. You can purchase a USB dongal
from FS that you simply plug into one USB port and the thumb drive into
another USB port. Now, this is a problem if you are using a laptop, but
on a tower there are usually more than two USB ports. And, when I found
out that the price for the dongel was only $45. I keep it on my key
ring along with my 2GB thumb drive and that way I can have a licensed
JFW anywhere I go.

: Mary and all,
:
: The JAWS thumb drive is a bit disappointing when you read the fine
print
: and discover that it runs only in demo mode unless the PC already has
: JAWS installed on it.
: The Dolphin Pen contains the entire Hal screen reader and will run on
: any PC, Dolphin also has a PDA version of the screen reader Hal.

: Buddy,
