Thanks Dana and everyone. I ended up going to www.jfwlite.com, which I had
kinda forgotten about. From their wealth of programs, I downloaded Spybott S&D
version 1.3 and it seems to work very well with the latest version of JAWS
which is what I have. My roommate has Spybott S&D and loves it. I heard on
www.savemybutt.com that Norton is an absolute system hog so I completely
uninstalled it.

  Hi Jake:

Not at all as far as I'm concerned man. I use the online stuff called
EZ-armor provided by Time Werner Cable my internet service. Also, you might
consider signing up to AOL. simply to use there spy ware detection scanner.
Usually, you can get a free trial that will allow you the right to use there
service. I got a six month one with my newest computer. I do not necessarily
recommend any of there other stuff but the spy ware thing is pretty good. I'm
not sure who your IP. is but they might also offer something. Personally, here
I go again, I do not use any of the Microsoft stuff except Windows XP. and SP2.
I have disabled all the live update features and there fire wall. I had
nothing but problems with the update because they kept invading my computer and
changing things I want left alone. I once checked my startup file and found 42
MS-hot fixes attached to the end of it, that's when I made my decision. I
don't like there fire wall because of the very reason you have stated, the pop
up blocker just doesn't work.

Hi all. This message is probably off-topic and I do apologize for that, but
I am kinda desperate. Everytime I open Internet Explorer now, I get about ten
pop-ups. Not sure why the Pop-Up Blocker that is built-in to Windows XP Service
Pack 2 isn't picking these up.

Hi handsters. Subject line says it all. I am looking for a good
anti-spyware program that is free. I tried downloading Spybott S&D version 1.4
from www.savemybutt.com, but I got a message saying the installation could not
be varified or something like that. I have been getting a boat load of pop-ups
and my Pop-Up Blocker is turned on and set to High. I uninstalled Norton and
switched to AVG 7.1 because it seems to be smaller. Thank you very much.
