LOL The only thing grand associated with me are my parents' parents, and a piano I used to play when I was a child.

Guess you could say it was a baby's grand...

Badum-bum!

Your exit was a lovely, if not grand one, and even now, I'm still hearing the echoes of the away ...
Oh, yes, thanks very much for your note about the podcast, I appreciate that very much.
And the echoes are still fading ... fading ... fading ...

Thanks. I'd not looked that far back, thinking surely I hadn't missed any from farther back than October ... <Smirk> I'll check again.

For the moment, I'm pretty happy with my Olympus DM-20, but I can tell that once I really start using it the short recording time will become problematic. A flash-card-based recorder might be just the thing.

Keep up the great podcasting. I'm sure you've heard similar things all your life, and yet I can't help saying it ... it's always nice to start each day with a little Hope.

There is a review of this from back in July, I believe, and Rob Meredith is reviewing the R1. His review is pretty in depth. I believe it is show 168, or something like that, but I am not certain.
By the way, thank you for subscribing. Wow, what a nice surprise. Anyway, don't worry, you're not late at all. <smile> It is a great recorder, as I said before. Of course it has its drawbacks, but attempts to compensate for them pretty well. Its main drawback is the short battery life, but, if you use lithium batteries, or rechargeable batteries, you'll be fine. That is, if you end up getting it. I don't know anything about the newer recorder, but I'm quite satisfied with the one I have now.
Ok, I've rambled on long enough. lol

Have I missed a podcast review on this? I'm intrigued, but can't find any reviews on the BCT site. (Sorry, I came in late. Heard Hope's podcast from Jan 10 and got intrigued.)

Mary,
It's a lovely recorder, I must say, if you don't mind its size, but the recording capacity is limitless, depending on the size of flash card you use.
Battery life is kind of disappointing, however, there is an AC adaptor, and, if you have rechargeable aa batteries, you're set.
Just my humble opinion, however.

Hmmm...I am beginning to think I should spend part of my tax refund on the Edirol R1 if I even have a small suspicion that it might be useful.
