Hy Mary on the Message you said that you have friends in Lancashire? Which
part? The reason why I ask is because I live in Lancashire and know some parts
of it well.

Donna, good to get a podcast from you again! I have a few comments to toss
out for general discussion:

Shopping: Yes, we have food shopping here in the U.S. and I have been buying
groceries from Safeway for the past few years and would never do it any other
way. We had a food store near where I live, but they moved in 1999, and between
1999 and the time Safeway opened, I bought food from such companies as
Schwann's, which has an online catalog and a delivery service but they are
limited in selection and are quite expensive. My friends in Lancashire have a
lot of options and have told me a bit about grocery shopping in the u.K. so you
definitely have options there too.

Hexabits: they sound like great fun and most likely many of us will check
them out. I love things like this. When I was a teen ager in the hippie days,
there was a product called dealy bobbbers; they were flat plastic pieces with
five "petals" a bit like a flower, and they had a hole in the middle of each
piece; they came in little cloth bags of 100 and you could do all sorts of fun
things with them. Probably not as much as you can with hexabits, but they were
enough fun that my sister got a set and made mobiles to hang in her room. It
would be fun to find out what other blind people on this list love to play with
for fun and maybe for a bit of therapy to keep their sanity! I love stress
balls and have a couple of the little foam balls to squeeze if life gets crazy.
They always bounce back, even after years of handling!

  Happy holidays, from Mary
