Man, I thought i was the only one having this issue. I wrote Neal, and he said he'd look into it. I'm just glad to see, that this isn't just my system doing something totally weird.

Chris.

Subject: [bct] Attachment question

I sometimes get the BCT mail as an attachment. This usually happens if
the message has been sent using a character encoding which doesn't
match with my native character encoding. As I'm using Linux rather
than Windows, often this is because the encoding being used is one of
the Microsoft encoding types rather than an ISO/ANSI type.

I also sometimes get an attachment when the client sends the mail as pure HTML
i.e. not multi-part with an HTML and text version in the same message.
There are some mail clients out there which are broken and don't
specify the mime type correctly and this will also result in the mail
being presented as an attachment.

Note however, the vast majority of e-mails I get from the list are not
attachments. Also, I'm pleased to say that most are not in HTML
format, which I think is a truely evil waste of resources. My mail
client reports the size of the multi-part e-mails in lines. I will
often see a short greeting e-mail and my client will inform me it is 4
lines of text and 434 lines of HTML. The HTML Outlook produces has to
be some of the very worst I've ever seen.
