Audio description on DVDs should be law and that goes for talking menues. It is absurd that we are living in the 21st century and still people have not included sutch simple things like these.

Hi. I too, have had my share of difficulties with DVD's. Last night a neighbor and I were watching "The Brothers Grimm." This was the new version with Matt Damon. I told him how most if not all DVD's nowadays included audio descriptions but to get to them for a blind or visually-impaired person was next to impossible. This neighbor friend is fully sighted. He tried going through the various menus but couldn't find any audio descriptions, so he did the describing and did a very nice job. This considering he and I had never seen the movie before and there are some confusing parts in it.

Most times. There are some movies where the audio button on the remote doesn't work. Universal Studios movies tend to be this way, as do many of the older Disney releases (older in terms of when the DVD was released, now how old the film is). "Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has a DVS track, but it's not accessable with the audio button on the remote. You must access it with the menus. Now, while it's true the menus do talk, in order to make them talk you need to press a sequence of buttons on your remote ... and the way to learn about that is to access the DVS track. <Sigh> Go fig.

There is an audio button on the remotes of DVD players. This button cycles
between languages and also DVS.
