[bct] Re: A Christmas Story

Yes, he did. Also, you can buy a (probably abridged) audiobook with the author reading the book ... or on the special-edition DVD of "A Christmas Story," he reads two excerpts, though I'm not sure they're from that book--one is about his wanting a BB gun for Christmas, much like the movie, and one is his telling of the incident involving Flick's tongue. Great stuff.

Hi all,

The movie is based on a book called In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash; there is a chapter in there describing some of what the movie portrays. The book has some really outrageous stuff in it. NLS recorded it and it's RC48446; author Jean Shepherd. Narrated by Michael Kramer. It's on two tapes. I think the author did the narration in the film.
