Well I don't know if this relates, but some of the surround sound systems today require onscreen programming, and that doesn't benefit blind people at all!

Hi Gabe,

Well, of course, "accessible" means at least that the device can be used by a totally blind person. I mean, well, it means a lot of things, but that's what I mean by "accessible". The Edirol R-1, and probably the R-09, qualify as quite accessible recorders.

You and I both know that there are many, many electronic devices out in the world that have become either completely or mostly useless to us blind folks, and it is critical to advocate for accessibility. Ya' know, I've never quite figured out what your problem is with me anyhow. I've never done anything to ya'. Please be very careful when it comes to incorrectly characterizing the motives of others. :(

Not sure what you mean but what ever works either via key clicks beeps boops or what ever most things are accessible. for example the vp3620 I use as my mp3 player/recorder/fmradio/externalharddrive/ multi card reader doesn't talk, or beep or what ever and I navigate it just fine via key clicks.
so I am not sure what you mean by accessibility. we know the blind access journal is notorius for wining about it though. btw I am totally blind myself.

Hi all,

Has anyone had a chance to check out this digital audio recorder yet for accessibility?

Podcasters...

In my daily skulking, I came across this:

"The Zoom H4 mobile recorder packs a lot of recording punch into
its six-inch size, with professional features such as four track
recording, two XLR inputs and phantom power.

It has two internal condenser microphones and can record
24-bit/96 kHz uncompressed digital audio, or if you're running
out of disk space on your SD memory card, save room by recording
direct to MP3 with bit rates up to 320kbps. And hey, in a pinch
it even acts as an audio interface for recording directly to your
PC. Its most amazing attribute is the price, $299.
