I installed the word press through Cpannel and deleted the one audio file. Maybe I'm getting confused and its simpler than I think.

I'm beginning to think this may be well over your head. From your
cpanel setup, there is probably an option to "install" these additional
scripts like Word Press and whatever else your hosting provider offers.
IE, if you are with Ultrahost, then you have a Fantastico option which
installs Wordpress and a number of other scripts by choice. Whatever
the case, if Word Press can be installed via a script through cpanel,
that installation effort will do most of the work. It will populate the
target directory with index.php and a whole bunch of other files to make
it all work. It will also build a MySQL database to hold the content.
After installation, you will need to go through the administrative menus
and set what options you may want. They are pretty self explanatory and
Word Press has links to a very comprehensive manual that is a *MUST
READ* to get you going.

For your audio files, I would create a separate directory off your root
which is totally separate from the blog scripts. Your posts can link to
these files just like any other website. For an example of how these
posts can be built in WP, take a look at my blog,
http://www.holmesgrown.com/blogs and just read through the few possibly
boaring articles and you will notice the links to my podcast episodes.

When finally ready for actual podcasting, this blog script will generate
the RSS feed for you every time you post and any linked audio files will
be marked inside enclosure elements for all good podcatchers to find.:)
