iriver ifp899 and recording settings

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get my settings to a point where I have a decent sounding
recording that won't be to big of a file. I did a 27.5 minute podcast a week
or so ago with my iriver set to 96kpbs and 44mhz and I got a 20mb file. I'd
love some input along with any other setting suggestions you might have.
