Yeah, and google made it worse. Now you have to be able to receive a text
message as well on your cell phone. I wish there was a service that I could
get a number and have such messages come in and receive them by email or
other client and be able to reply. Not many phones are accessible besides
the most high-end models.

Well, you should include Google in your complaints as well as they are also real big on this visual verification garbage! AFAIK, neither company has really addressed this issue at all. From what I've heard Google has done nothing about it and Yahoo's "alternative method" of requesting a call back is a big damn joke. I for one, has never received a return call from them on anything I've asked over there at Yahoo so their commitment to accessibility is about as bad as Google's.
Oh, and the last time I heard, the FEMA website has visual verification on it; that surely violates Section 508, being a government agency:). I don't think Google and/or Yahoo are affected by Section 508 at all, unfortunately.

I think per haps the blindness organizations will have to get involved before a big company like Yahoo will listen. After all, they are concentrating on marketing to the largest possible numbers. If we go to them in our numbers rather than as individuals, that would be the answer, IMHO.
