Hi Peter,

I fear that a lot more R&D energy is going to have to be expended in order to achieve a CAPTCHA that is truly accessible to all. In the case of Google, though they are finally getting the job done, it is also clear they are probably not going to be taking a position of leadership in this area, instead just following the footsteps of others by providing an audio CAPTCHA. I must say, however, that I have tried the audio verification scheme, and do like it quite a lot. The distortion isn't ridiculous, and there's no extra window to deal with, especially good for novice tech users.

Hello everyone,

This is great for one who is blind, but not good news for someone who is
both deaf and blind. A solution needs to be developed to benefit these
folks as well as those who are blind only.

congrads darel ! although I disagree with allot of you windows screen reader users on how much you really stand for accessability for all blind, including those of us who might not use windows or what ever.

I got to give darel allot of respect for his hard work. Thank you darel.

Hey, I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet,
but
Google has done it! Now when you create a google account for Gmail,
google
account or for google groups, the captcha also has an audio
representation!I
gotta congratulate Darrel Shandrow and everybody for signing the
google
accessibility petition. I guess hard work really does pay off.
Yay!
