Hi,
I believe that hardware devices represent a key accessibility obstacle to
podcast producers and listeners who are blind or visually impaired. These
devices typically require the use of a screen, and do not incorporate
universal design features that would elleviate many of the accessibility
issues.
I will also be at this conference and can help to bring some of these issues
to the attention of podcasting product and service vendors.
Regards,
Mika Pyyhkala

That is neat Darrell. You already know so many of the concerns, fellow
podcaster. Thanks.

Hi all,
I have made the final decision to attend the Portable Media Expo and
Podcasting Conference in November. My most important goal for doing so is
to help bring accessibility concerns just a bit closer to the forefront of
the technology industry, of which portable media and podcasting are most
certainly a part. I am asking all of you to submit to me (either on list or
via private mail to editor@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) a list of your
accessibility concerns with the hardware (both for creating and listening to
portable media), the software and the web sites created in this industry.
I look forward to your constructive feedback and useful information I can
take to this conference in hopes of making the contacts necessary to affect
some positive changes for our ability to participate in the world of
technology.
Thanks.
