sounds nice. I just need to get it to work!

Hi, Martin.
There are some definite differences in the user interface when you
compare the weather lookup with the JAWS research it feature, compared
to the Weather Plus addon for NVDA.
I absolutely agree with you that obtaining weather forecasts with
research it is far more straightforward. You just enter a zip code or a
city and state and the forecast appears in what JAWS calls the virtual
buffer. However, NVDA's addon does have a few additional features. As an
example, there's an option to play relevant sound effects when insert-W
has been pressed. As an example, if it's raining you might hear the
sound of thunder or rain during the reading of the forecast. You can
also enable things such as sunset and sunrise times, choosing Celsius or
Fahrenheit and other optional announcements. On the whole, I do agree
that the interface for the JAWS research it feature is a lot easier to
work with.

Hi, David: thanks for pointing this out. I wouldn’t have known to go to preferences. Unfortunately, I found adding a city and accessing the weather report not easy to accomplish. Jaws research it was so much better!

Martin,
In order to get the Weather Plus addon to work, it must be set up first by going into the NVDA menu with insert+N. Choose Preferences. Pressing up arrow will take you to Weather Plus preferences. This is where you choose your default city and state, as well as a ton of other settings. Once the addon is configured, there are several hotkeys you can use, including insert+W for today's forecast.

Hello: since Jaws research appears to no longer have weather
information I added the weather add/on to N v d a; but I am unable
to access it. I believe the hot key combination is the nvda key,
w, shift. That is a rather awkward combination for me. As any user on the list been able to access the weather information?
Thanks for any help.
