Hello all, Doctor Z has his scalpel ready. My solution: 1. f3/h3 (attacking queen) Qh4 (finding safe square) 2. Qf6 (Placing queen on diagonal with black king and rook.) Kb8 3. Re8+ Rd8 (blocks check) 4. Qd7 (Note how the black rook at d8 cannot take queen because of white rook at e8.) a6 5. Rxd8+ Ka7 (King sacrifices rook to escape.) Black would probably seek these alternatives. 1. -Qxe6 (Queen takes rook.) 2. Qxe6 (Queen takes queen.) 1. -Qg8 (defensive square) 2. Re8+ Qxe8 (Queen takes rook.) 3. Qxe8+ (Queen takes queen.) Rd8 (blocks check) The best black can do is to exchange the queen for a rook. This leaves white with a queen and rook against black's rook.
