[bksvol-discuss] Re: where is my book to proofread, did someone else get it and the credit?

Well, this mystery gets stranger and stranger. There are now two copies of
Little Prince Know-it-all in books in Processing. Both are checked out to
person 50; both were checked out for proofreading on March 1. However, one has
Carrie's note about protecting the page numbers and shows that it was
previously checked out for proofreading by Jamie. The second one shows only
that it was submitted by Anastacia with other notes about conversion and such
but shows 50 as the first proofreader.

How this would happen I could not presume to guess.

Cat Lover Lori, who should go back to proofreading and leave this riddle alone.

Hey, maybe wrong choice of words, I checked out the book for validation,
worked on it, uploaded it, was told it was returnede to the volunteer queue for
more editing, and I couldn't find it and somebody got it before I could do what
I was asked to do for the page numbers. So, now, with this in mind, who gets
the credit? Somebody finished what I started and the credit was possibly
snatched from under my nose. It may have happened while I slept.

I'm not clear as to what you are saying here. If you scanned and submitted
the book, then you will get credit for it, no matter who proofreads it, when it
gets added to the collection. If you made an effort to get the pages right,
then that work will not be lost, unless the proofreader messes it up somehow.
You can't submit a book for proofreading and then proofread it yourself, so I
am confused by your statement that you submitted a book for proofreading and
then it got taken from you.

If, on the other hand, you are saying that you were in the process of
proofreading a book and it expired, then someone else took it, then unless that
person indicates that you should receive credit for proofreading it in the
comments section, you will not get credit for it. By default, the person who
uploads the book to the Admin Queue gets the credit for proofreading it.

Hi, all, I submitted the following book for proofreading and think it got
taken from me when the administrators returned it to the queue for more
editing. I couldn't find the file all day yesterday. Will I get credit at
all? I can't believe I've worked to get the pages right and may not get
anything. Here is the following book. Little Prince Know-It-All Welch,
Sheila Kelly and Cravath, Lynne W. Mar 1, 2009 3:08:10 AM

Thanks for any help at all in this matter as I want credit for what
I've done if possible. I really want to earn what I can as my job is hanging
on by a thread right now. Thanks, have a blessed day.
