Amen. I used K1000 as long as I had the demo and those files which I
coverted to rtf have been driving me up the wall. I just arranged for a
demo of OpenBook and another volunteer is coverting my major kes file to
openbook for me so I can finish validating it and if it does not take me
the whole demo period I will try to scan annother book waiting on my shelf
but the books I had/have in rtf were being worked on in Wordperfect and
Wordpad which are my main word programs and they make validating a
nightmare. I spend more time undoing or saying "no" so saving the changes
because of butchering the job than I do correcting them.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as long as they don't involve buying
programs. I have 12 wordperfects and a word compatible section in
wordperfectand wordpad (the easiest so far).
On another subject: I uploaded The Diary of Lady Murasak and while I
have not seen it on any list I would assume it would be listed somewhere
for validation, which should be easy as I already did that fairly
thoroughly. I thought of you and your attic full of books to be scanned
and if that is one you can check it off your list. Genji will also be
there as soon as I can get Openbook as another volunteer is taking my kes.
file and changing it to openbook for me so as soon as openbook arrives I
will be able to continue my validating. (and finally get to read it). It
is the Royall Tyler translation.
