Hi Misha,

I am scanning the book "Coping with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury" by
Diane Roberts Stoler. I noticed that the collection has some books on
braininjuries but not this one.
This one is from a fantastic perspective as the person writing it is
not only a physician, and who was not only a caretaker for her mother
and son who both had brain injuries, but who also sustained a head
injury herself!

Oh, I really hope that works for you! Do you have any inkling yet if it has?

Thank you! I'll let you know. smile
> By the way, what is TBI?
Traumatic brain injury. Mine was a "mild" TBI. They are often
overlooked and under-treated.
One thing that I have always found fascinating is how wars push
medical discoveries so much faster than regular life does. Because of
the thousands of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Device) in Iraq they are
seeing more closed-head injuries than they'd seen in other wars--or at
least more than they'd ever recognized. They are seeing soldiers
who--years later--are still not functioning right; whose personalities
have changed; whose skills have dropped off; who are confused about
the simplest things; who have pain they "shouldn't" have. They are
finally beginning to recognize and treat "mild" traumatic brain
injuries with the proper respect. They are even giving purple hearts
for them now!
I won't get a purple heart as I got mine in the battlefield of my home
(LOL) but as a person who has to fight for recognition of how the
injury affected and still affects me 5 years later, I am so grateful
to see the soldiers getting the help they need right away.
Now that I know others would like to access it, too, I can't wait to
get this book into the collection!
