Oh! My husband has a couple of those Cannons in his office, I've had scanner-envy over them for years! I wish they would make a decent model in the $1000-1500 price-range like Fujitsu does. I guess on the positive side, my Fujitsu has never torn a page in half! :) Take care, Donna From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Carrie Karnos Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2008 1:19 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: to Carrie It's a Canon DR-5080C, now discontinued by Canon. It's a great little scanner, although there are times when it hiccups. A few weeks ago, I was scanning a paperback, everything was fine, when it suddenly ripped a page in two. Whoa! If a book is over 50 years old, the pages are usually quite fragile and they frequently tear, but the paperback was about 5 years old and should have gone through without a glitch. I looked for a bump in the paper that might have caused the hiccup but didn't find anything. Who knows what happened! Since then, it's been fine. No idea what caused it to hiccup. What scanner are you guys using out there? I have a Fujitsu 4220C, and I think it does a really good job, but not as good as the stuff you are producing. Cheers, Donna _____ Never miss a thing.
