Hi all,

Lynne, I believe that Shannon is concerned because one can only download five books for proofing at one time. This is why the holds were instituted. By placing a hold on a book, it is there to be proofed, but is waiting for the specific proofer to do so. By shortening the period to two weeks, a proofer must reduce the size of his/her queue before being able to download any more holds. The submitter will have to slow down, or cut back on the books scanned for a given proofer so that he or she can keep up.

Yes, one is able to renew books, but if one has only five books, and a given submitter is working on a series, those books can't be submitted until the proofer's queue is reduced or eliminated. The holds act as a store room for active proofers who need to work with specific submitters.
