Good to know Mayrie -- as a newcomer to these lists I carry huge
historical blanks (smile) in terms of where things have been and what's
happened to get us to here and now.

As for the update on this end -- we're working on how best to frame the
change for submission to our engineering team's To-Do list (smile) so in
effect the collective voice of the volunteers has been heard (smile)

All good things,
Pavi

Hi Pavi,

In the past, many of us have expressed the same desire that
Tracy
has mentioned. I think a lot of us would like very much to be able to
see
who the validator as well as the submitter of any given book in the
Bookshare collection was. Just letting you know that Tracy's request is
not
the first, or the only one for this.

Have a good day.

Mayrie

Hi Tracy,

Thank you for writing in with that suggestion. You make a clear case and
I
have forwarded it onto the relevant Bookshare staff for their feedback
and
will be sure to let you know what the response is from this end.

Happy Tuesday!

Pavi

I would like to see the validator listed on books, along with the
submitter.
First, I'm proud of my work, and have no objection to having my name
attached to it. People who want their names hidden could still be that
old
Bookshare Volunteer.

Second, different validators do differing amounts of work on a book.
The
book I'm reading now is rated excellent, and mostly is, but it's obvious
whoever validated it didn't so much as bother to spellcheck. Though
they
apparently stripped headers, which I do appreciate.
Anyway, seeing the validator name might give the experienced Booksharian
an
idea of the quality that might be expected inside a book.

I've also often wondered if it would be helpful to display the
percentage
that we see when we're asked to rate the book. You know, 99.76%
accuracy,
which suggests excellent quality.
There is a wide variation in excellence.

Tracy
