Jake,
Submittine either in RTF or ARK formats are fine. Your submition will
probably be attended to more rapidly if you submit in RTF, though, since
almost everyone can open RTF files.

Yep, freshman attending Illinois State University.
I've been lurking on the list here for a few weeks now (btw new email
address in the next few days) and have been working on a bunch of books I
got when I was younger. I doubt I'll be scanning much during the semester,
but I'll be uploading the stuff I've got scanned in the near future.
I'm going to go ahead and take this opportunity to throw a question out at
the list. For school the state purchased a copy of everybody's favorite
OpenBook (told them I wanted k1000 but do they listen? nope) when I go to
upload books would it be best to upload in the Arkenstone format or in rich
text.
As far as the quality of my scans goes, I sit and read line by line using
OB's built in speech, usually using a CCTV to look at where the paragraph
breaks are...it helps to an extent in a few confusing cases. I think my
scans are top quality as far as errors go. I have not included additional
order forms and the like with the files because that is more trouble to
correct than I think it is worth.
I've enjoyed reading the banter going back and forth about the necessity of
quality on submissions. I agree that if it is possible to get top notch
submissions then that's what should be done, but I also think a copy is
better than no copy...so I am pretty open and can see both sides of the
table.
I am actually at home right now and will dig out Swallows & Amazons before I
leave and post when I get the copyright info scanned in. I wasn't planning
on finishing my work on Secret Water anytime soon but I think I will take it
back to school with me and plug a way within the next week or so and see if
I can't get it done...classes don't start until Monday but we've got the
lovely freshman orientation as well.
