Hi gang, Our librarian Amy was given the task of vetting the Wish List, finding those books that would qualify as educational, so we could buy them and put them in the collection. Unfortunately Amy has had health issues for the last couple of months, so the vetting has been moved to the back burner while she works on more pressing issues for Bookshare. I will ask her about vetting the Wish List, and let you know what she says, on Tuesday. (Monday is a holiday). I think she suggested that we should start adding any books to the wish list that we wanted that would qualify. At the time I recall thinking that I could probably come up with quite a few such titles, but that was right after you had your stroke and to us you had just disappeared without any of us knowing what happened. When Carrie sent that email you had been missing only maybe a couple of days and no one had yet commented on it, but I did notice your abscence. I decided to wait because I was not sure anyone would be there to add to the wish list. As time stretched out and others were noticing that you were missing I felt like I had more reason to refrain. I never did hear anything more about that plan to buy up wish list books for in house processing though. It would be good if Carrie could comment on it now. That could go far in paring down the wish list, coming closer to fulfilling the grant requirements and making wishers happy. _ _ _ "I believe in recognizing every human being as a human being, neither white, black, brown nor red. When you are dealing with humanity as one family, there's no question of integration or intermarriage. It's just one human being marrying another human being, or one human being living around and with another human being.... The worst form of a human being, I believe, is one who judges another human being by the color of his skin."
