As a queen of testing, I have used FineReader Pro (7 &9), IRIS Pro (11/12), OmniPage Pro (various iterations from 8-17), and the now defunct TextBridge
(absorbed eventually by Nuance/OmniPage). Of current products on the PC,
FineReader is most transparent and Pro is VERY powerful and timesaving.
Having said that, depending on your machine and OS, for what it was at the
time, TextBridge was incredible! So, if you have an older machine and older
OS, dirt cheap copies might be available on eBay and the like.

If you pick up a refurbished scanner or AIO, you will probably get something
decent bundled and a bargain. eBay had Dell all in ones for under $50
SHIPPED that scanned beautifully and bundled FineReader Sprint and you would
be current on both.

Just my experience and two cents...
Valerie

Hi Monica,

Thanks for the lead, I am researching FineReader and am weighing it
against
Text Cloner Pro. Tim
